Audrey Foo
Senior Engineer
Secret, super hero power? Secret ninja
Briefly:
Committed to breaking barriers and debunking myths, Audrey's professional interests are fervently rooted in the open-source movement. This includes a love for Linux and a commitment to the continued growth and support of PHP and open-source technologies. With this mission in mind, she started a PHP users group which grew into the non-profit Vancouver PHP Users Association, and hosted a free series of beginner workshops at Free Geek, a non-profit re-use and recycling center.

- Try something new, that has community support
- Where/when did you first get online?
- Around 1994, at that time I was big into arguing hot topics on IRC

- Dave Olson's been around the block the most, I think.
- Favorite techie word/acronym?

- Another profession would you like to try?
- Stunt artist, but only for a very short period.

- Your best tech skill?
- Logical analysis
- Country you want to visit that you've never been to?
- Brazil
- Where'd you go to school? Why?
- McGill first, as Montreal is a completely unique and different place (Bachelor of Engineering). Simon Fraser University for a few months (pursuing a post-graduate certificate in Object Technology). This was a very practical, though misguided decision I later found out, as SFU does not guarantee to keep your transcripts for very long, so it is difficult to prove you ever attended or completed a certificate. Ah well money down the drain. C'est la vie.
- Three words of advice to younger developers?
- Push the boundaries
