Buckwheat or Barley Ice Cream
I love iced barley and buckwheat tea on hot days.  Adding sugar and cream seemed like a good idea.  It was.

Ingredients

For: 8 people

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and place over medium heat
  2. Cook mixture until just before boil (170° F if you have a thermometer)
  3. Strain to remove buckwheat or barley
  4. Cool on counter for 30 minutes (or pour into a bowl and place that bowl into another bowl full of ice water and stir for 5 minutes)
  5. Place in sealed container in refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours
  6. Place in ice cream maker
